After many years of breeding commercial fine wool/fine wool crosses, we were introduced to Katahdin hair sheep. We liked not having to worry about annual shearing, problem lambing, and frequent worming we encountered with our commercial herd. We had several generations of fine wool/Katahdin crosses and noticed the superior quality of the lambs. This year we have culled all our "woolies" and percentage ewes, and are now concentrating on our registered Katahdins. We currently have 40 registered breeding ewes, and will breed to an excellent registered ram we purchased this year from the North Dakota State University Katahdin department.
